Rick Smoak
I was born in Tacoma,Wa. and have lived in Atlanta and New Jersey. However, for most of my life I have lived in South Carolina.
My wife is a retired teacher. She taught at the high school and college levels. My daughter is a brand new RN working in a pediatric practice. Just by virtue of their jobs they make the world a better place every day.
And me? Iām a photographer. I love to create photographs that place my clients in the spotlight and share their talents with their audience.
Over the years I have photographed talented, creative professionals in business, healthcare, finance, education and the arts. I have had the privilege of creating portraits of doctors, lawyers, and CEOs as well as small business owners, architects and laborers, who make life better for us all.
It is a gift to meet and work with accomplished professionals in every area of our world.
My background in photography started after high school when I worked at an Eastman Kodak plant in the day and attended a tech school at night. Then I discovered Ansel Adams B&W photography. That is when a hobby became an obsession. The technical side of photography has always clicked with me it just came easy. The challenge was turning a creative hobby into a viable small business. That is sometimes still a challenge. At this point in my career I should be thinking about retiring. However, I feel like I am just getting started and I enjoy meeting new people and creating new images as much as ever.
